From Academic Coordinator
Couple of activities made the environment friendlier to the teachers and students. Teachers’ Day celebration encouraged students to offer ‘guru dakshina’ in a form of programme, almost managed and performed by them. It was a great offer for all the teachers. Teachers’ happiness gave birth to a programme in a form of ‘thanks’ to all the students. Students were very happy to see their teachers dancing, singing, acting for them.  For some of the students it was their first time to see teachers doing such programme for them. In the other hand, it was very first time for some teachers to dance, sing, act, play musical instruments. The excitement that the students and teachers had during this time was quite observable.
The celebration of the ‘Fathers’ Day’ was beyond expression!
The trianglular-relationship between the parents (esp. fathers), students (children) and the school was exemplified with this hearty programme. Let this relationship last forever with a strong bond of love and care.
The theme months of ‘handwriting’ completed with Handwriting Competition. This helped many students to improve their handwriting. Now we are going to held essay writing competition. This is from grade IV-VIII. Topic has been given to them to practice self before competition. We hope parents are also assisting them in any such requirement. Wish you all the best to our dear children!

Along with, school activities we also had participated in Art Competition held in Russian Culture and Ambition Academy where Kriti Poudel won 3rd prize, Congratulation to her. We also observed Teej Ceremony where all the lady teachers participated and had snacks party as our tradition and Custom. Lastly, I would like to wish you all 'Happy Dashain and Tihar.

Grade I 'A'

Dear Parents and guardians, Namaste!
Firstly let me thank you for your presence on the 'Parents Teachers Conference' as well as for sending invaluable comments and suggestions mentioned through the evaluation format. We also would like to thank all the parents for supporting flood victims by donating money and many other things
We are almost at the mid – session of this academic year 2065. By this time, our children seem to have grown significantly in the field of confidence and progress. We really enjoyed being with them for the past six months and will be trying our best to provide proper care and guidance to them in the days to come, too.
Through this issue of our grade wise newsletter we would like to inform you about our class activities which the students have done so far as well as the ones which they will be doing in upcoming days.

English
We started our English course in the second term with the review work of the first term. We tried to solve their confusions during this review period. After that we did the units 'My Body' and 'The Dolls House'. They were excited to play the game 'Simon Says' which is related to our body parts. They confidently shared the use of 'This is' and 'These are ' using their own body parts. We also introduced 'naming words' and 'doing Words' to the children. Their effort in the project of 'Naming works' was appreciable. In the unit 'The Dolls House ', they have learned the use of 'has' and 'have'. After that our children were excited to write 'autobiographies' using 'have' and 'picture descriptions' using 'has' which was totally new activities for them. As they are learning about animals in Science, we started the simple autobiography with the animals’ topic. We even conducted 'Handwriting Workshop' followed by 'Handwriting Competition' to motivate our children to write neatly and clearly. Further we will be proceeding with the unit 'A visit to the Zoo'.

Maths
In the second term, we started our Maths class with the numbers from ‘1 to 100’ along with the ‘Number Names’. Although place value was bit confusing and a new concept for them, with the help of classroom materials they were able to grasp the concept very well. As they have learnt the basic concept of addition and subtraction in the first term, they were able to solve the two digits ‘Addition’ and ‘Subtraction’ very easily. Currently they are doing “Subtraction” and will be moving towards its ‘Word Problems’. Next they will learn 'Geometrical shapes' and 'Multiplication'.

Science
We started our class with the topic 'Rainy Day'. As a long term project our children observed the rainy days and did exercises related to it. Next they learned the lesson 'Animals around us’; in this lesson they learned many things about animals like their food, homes etc. They even drew the pictures of their favorite animals and wrote about them as their project.
Soon, they will be learning about the topic 'Animals and their sound and babies', for this our children will be taken on a trip to the zoo to observe and know more about different types of animals and birds in reality!

Social Studies
In the second term, students have finished the lesson 'Help Needy People'. They learnt about who needy people are and how to help such people in their family and in their community, too.
They were very excited while learning the lesson 'Help disabled people'. They all participated activities in the class and they also did a short skit related to it. They have finished the lesson 'Take help' and 'Give help', too. At present, they are learning the lesson 'My School'.
You are always welcome if you have any queries about your ward and want to share your opinion.

Thanking you!

-Ms. Sushma Aryal and Ms. Vineeta Shrestha

Arts and Craft
After working with these tiny little hands I must tell you how happy I am and here I am to continue with the same spirit we did ‘Painting’, and now we are on going to finish ‘Craft Work’. After the completion we will move towards the clay work. To make our teaching learning process more effective we had brought Mr. Binod Gupta (Craft) as a resource person. I hope to get the same environment once again with them.

PE
I am very happy as these children are really lovely and energetic, too! Being with these kids it’s like taking oneself back to their age. Well with the same enthusiastic I started my class by giving trainings in the field like ‘Skipping’, ‘playing Football (Push and Pass)’, in ‘Basket ball’ they learnt dribbling. We also did ‘Running race’, played ‘Ludo’, ‘Cat and Rat’, ‘Rumal Lukai’, ‘Musical Chair Race’ and ‘Swimming’.  Just as the saying goes an apple a day keeps doctor away so is an active exercise a day keeps us healthy! Since we all know that an At present we are learning items like Physical that’s why we are here at present in items like ‘Physical Fitness’, ‘Football (playing style)’, ‘Skipping (playing style)’, ‘Cat and Rat’, ‘Cock Fight’, ‘Basketball (playing style)’ and ‘Swimming.’

Dear parents and caregiver,

Your suggestions through the evaluation format have proved to be a great help to carry out our duties more efficiently. We are trying to work on the suggestions given by you in the evaluation format.
We believe that good learning environment at home enhances kids learning efficiency. So, we seek your support in this matter and would like to request you to give at least few minutes time to help the kids. There was no bound of their excitement while playing the game. This was an integrated class with P.E. and was related to their unit 'Physical Exercise', too. Students did their sharing and project on the theme 'Games and Sports'. As the Olympic game was being held, it helped the students understand the importance of games and sports. We found the students very fond of playing and watching different games. They also did some exercises based on it. Frequent spelling tests and dictations have helped them write correctly enrichment in their vocabularies have helped them write more interestingly and creatively. Nowadays, they are busy with their project work of making 'story chains' which will be followed by a 'pocket chart activity' for the poem A Child's Thought, Our Town is the fourth unit which they will be learning in this term. They will be learning about 'yes/no questions' and reading about different places and people living there. They were also well introduced about the subtraction of up to 6 digit numbers with borrowing. They enjoyed their project of 'Story Composition' based on 'Addition and Subtraction' which they did in pairs. Students' effort and cooperation with each other made us very happy while doing this work. Their presentation of the work was praiseworthy as well.

Grade IV 'A'

Dear Parents/Guardians,
Namaste!
This is the third issue of our grade-wise newsletter and let us take this opportunity to wish you all Happy Vijaya Dashami and Deepawali-2065. As in other issues of our newsletter, here also we have tried to share write you some information about our children progress and their activities at school.
The first term performance of our students was up to our expectation. Nevertheless, the results also explicitly indicated some areas to be worked on. For example handwriting, spelling, adequate preparation for exams, etc. Your invaluable comments and suggestions during the PTC and the ones that we got through the evaluation formats also spotlighted some areas to be improved on. So we began the second term with the review of the first term exams and we feel very happy now to inform you that we have been able to overcome most of the drawbacks. Thank you for your timely suggestions, guidance and co- operation.
The intense focus on handwriting with several workshops on it followed by the Handwriting Competition-2065 during the month of Bhadra brought about radical changes in our students writing. It is very encouraging that our children have been doing some extra practice on their own besides doing their regular assignments. Most of them have started submitting their practice exercise book once a week in a regular basis. As you know that the students are allocated certain marks in each subject for their extra practice, they should be encouraged more in their efforts. We have planned to improve their spellings, too. They are going to be distributed spelling books very soon. They will be doing different activities to enrich their vocabulary, too. We are very grateful to you for your continuous support in helping the children improve in these areas.
Our students got a good opportunity to get practical knowledge during their visits to the Durbar Square at Patan and the Art Council at Babarmahal. During the visits, locating places on a map, observing historical monuments, temples, etc. interviewing local people, talking to foreigners, etc. were the activities they enjoyed most in the former while appreciating paintings, meeting many artists, interviewing them, getting their autographs and even learning some basic skills of painting from them were the ones they enjoyed in the latter. In both the visits they manifested good communicative skills which had great impression on the people they met.
Besides their regular course of studies, our students have been observing different festivals and social events with great interest. They prepared excellent chart works on Janai Purnima and Krishna Janmastami. They made beautiful greeting cards for Father's Day. Their singing and dancing on Teej made the teachers join them in their celebration. On the children day they took a resolution to use their Child Rights in a right away and showed their happiness by dancing and singing with the teachers on the stage during the Children's Day Programme.

English
Our students began second term by learning some 'Polite Expressions'. After that they focused on handwriting and have improved significantly. Meanwhile they studied about comparisons in the unit 'Gaurav's Holiday'. They enjoyed writing about their explorations and creating their own poems in this unit. Now they are learning different sounds along with their pronunciation symbols. They can now identify various consonant sounds, vowel sounds and diphthongs. It has enabled them to use their dictionaries for finding correct pronunciation of words, too. Our students will be learning four more units in the second term. They are 'A Day at the Zoo', 'Seasons', 'A Clever Boy' and 'Lost in the Forest' in which they will be learning about the present tense and past tense.

Social Studies
Students began their second term course with the unit 'Civil Awareness'. They have finished the lessons 'Our Cultural Heritage' and 'Our natural resources' on this unit. While learning about 'Our Cultural Heritage' the students visited Patan Durbar Square and the Krishna Mandir. They did not miss their opportunity to visit the Patan Museum and to study about the people and their culture in Patan during the visit.  As the achievement of the visit, they came up with wonderful project works integrating with other subjects like Nepali, English and even arts. They wrote poems, conversations, autobiographics, essays journals, etc. and made beautiful paintings, too. At present, they are learning about water and forest resources of our country in detail. They will be learning the lesson ' Rights of Children ' and 'Protection of Child Rights' under the same unit in this term.

Maths
The first lesson our students learned in the second term was 'Multiplication'. After that they learned 'Division'. We devoted ample time and effort while giving them the concept of these lessons. We have been giving the students more practice work as per your suggestions. They are learning 'Simplification'. They will be learning H.C.F, L.C.M, Unitary method in the second term. We are determined to include more activities and projects in this term. We hope our students will participate them with increasing confidence, enjoyment and curiosity to explore the wonderful world of mathematics.

Science
Our children started the second term with great enthusiasm. They began with the lesson 'Aquatic Plants'. They were very curious while learning about food of plants, especially of insectivorous plants. The students carried out a simple experiment to study about non-green plants. They grew mould on a slice of bread. After that they learned about parts of a plant through direct observation of different plants at school. Our students enjoyed sharing their knowledge about a flower and its parts with the parents which has enhanced their interest at the subject. They are excited about another experiment which they are going to do very soon. In this experiment they will plant some flower plants to study different methods of reproduction in plants. They will be doing it as a long term observation.
